Playing a little more.......

I have had a few bits and bobs sitting around on my desk so finally made some into cards. The first was a digi stamp from Tickled Pink Stamps - Cherrie with rose which I coloured with water colour pencils ages ago and just left lying around. Poor little love, finally made it onto a card. She is cute but I have to find some colours to work on the skin tones as that has not come up as I would have liked.

You will probably be sick of the sight of this Hero arts stamp as I have used it on a few cards now. This background is done with distress stain and ink after the image was stamped with Memento ink ages ago.
Same stamp, white embossed and the background done with my new gelatos.... yay! Loving playing with these.
My first Christmas card for the year done using the napkin technique ironed on using cling wrap that I saw in my Creative Jump Start Lessons for 2013. Not a new technique but just one that I have never had time to try - but now I have. It works a treat! More gelatos playing but th…

It's all about playing........

My creative time so far this year has been limited with the heat but when I have played it has been playing with my new toys. Last year I won some Hero Arts stamps and I have been playing a little with those and for Christmas I got a lovely bunch of Distress Markers so again I have been trying them out a little. IRL it is glossy in appearance and sits up on foam tape very nicely. The background is coloured with Distress markers, stormy sky, broken china and tumbled glass. Some Prima flowers, a badge I bought back from Paris and a Kaiser stamp on acetate completes the look of this card. Santa didn't bring me any Gelatos that were on my Christmas Wish list so last week I had to venture over to Anna's Craft Cupboard and purchase some for myself. Inspired by a card done by Darlene DeVries on he…

Happy New Year...... welcome 2013

Well the family holiday came and went and so has Christmas too. Here we are now entering 2013 and I have finally got some creative get go again. The weather has been sweltering in the high 30's & low 40's so being in my craft area has been a challenge and kept to night time only when the room has cooled ever so slightly. Just before Christmas I went to a crop and instead of scrapping I decided to play with a technique shown in Craftstamper magazine for August 2012. The technique used highlighters and walnut stain distress ink to create bakgrounds to stamp on. I had some varied results with different brands and colours of highlighters but have to say I do like the effect.
These are the card designs above that I ended up with. Aren't the backgrounds interesting and varied? I will probably do this technique again but need time to play and get it better perfected for my liking. This last card was just a white emboss resist effect with distress inks using a Hero arts Wil…
