Retreat time layouts......

The last weekend in February I went on the Chooks Scrapping Retreat to the lovely Avalon Homestead in Toodyay. What a wonderful time I shared with the lovely ladies there with lots of scrapping time and great food accompanied by great company.
 I had heaps of photos from our Indonesia and KL trip printed and was ready to play with paper.

 MWS1-13 from Heather's scrappy sketches which I love to visit and never find enough time to complete them all. This is my Indonesian granddaughter who took a shine to her Aussie Uncle Keelan and spent most of her time looking for him or by his side.
 My AFS friends at lunch - MWS2-13 where I had a lovely time reminiscing about old times in 1986-87 in Malang.
 Some of the animals at Taman Safari near Bogor in Indonesia where you can drive amongst the animals and they come right up to the cars in places.... Lots of photos like these.

And, a couple of the shows at Taman Safari where I used the technique of using multiple journaling cards to write across and tell the story.

Gosh Christmas is creeping up fast

I'm not real good at this blogging stuff, am I? I have really neglected it lately. We spent a lovely ten days in Cairns in the beginning of November which I am sure you will see in the layouts that I will be creating over the coming months and indeed in the last couple of Cybercrops. We stayed at Holloways Beach which is approx 10kms north of Cairns city and the beach is not like our South Aussie beaches where we have the soft hard packed sand, it was grainy and moved a lot under foot. In Cairns itself you cannot swim at the beach as the city has a more swampy beachfront which is muddy and tacky with lots of crabs. At this time of the year also, the waters are full of stingers so it is dangerous to swim in the sea unless in an enclosed netted off area for protection. Holloways beach had a small area to do this and the boys liked it but the current was strong and wavy and no sooner would they stand up than wave would come and dump them under again. My Christmas cards with North Pole papers.....

Last Christmas season I bought the Kaisercraft North Pole 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad as I really loved the colours of the papers. Of course I really didn't get a chance to use them much  because I had already made my cards earlier in the year so have been putting them to use in recent weeks for my cards for this Christmas Season. Inspired by Pinterest above.    A sketch from Paper Wishes for World Card Making Day was used for above and below.  Above is another Paper Wishes sketch for World Card Making Day and below is OWH sketch #236. The last of the scraps.....

The last of the glossy magazine scraps with toppers and extra bits. These went to Combat Cards SA just before the close off of Christmas cards.   Stamps are from a Clear Impressions set with Creative Stamping magazine. Die-cut is from Stampin' Up.     These are based on some sketches but it has been a while and I can't remember which ones they were so I  won't be able to share that this time around.
